Ordering
Is your meat halal certified?
Yes, everything we sell is halal, and every product page shows the certifying body for that product with a certification badge, so you can check before you buy. Our online store is run separately from Jeff's Premium Halal Meat of 309 Highfield Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, which is HMC certified; for products on this website, the badge on the product page tells you the certification for that exact product.
Why is the weight shown as a range?
Fresh meat is a natural product, so we sell by weight range and always aim to supply at or above the minimum of the range. If you choose preparation options like skin off or fat trimmed, they are done after weighing, so the pack you receive can weigh less than the range shown. You pay the checkout price either way; we never adjust the price after packing.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, free of charge up to 48 hours before your delivery day. Message us on WhatsApp or email us with your order number. After that your order has been prepared fresh and your delivery booked, so we can no longer change or cancel it.
Do you take Qurbani orders?
Yes. We announce the order window ahead of Eid al-Adha each year. Qurbani orders are paid in full when placed and cannot be cancelled after the cutoff, because animals are allocated against your order.
Do you supply restaurants or caterers?
Yes, we welcome trade and bulk enquiries. Contact us through the website and we will agree pricing and delivery with you directly.
Delivery & Packaging
How is my order kept cold during delivery?
Your order stays in our chiller until the moment it leaves. Nationwide orders travel with DPD in insulated packaging with ice packs that keeps everything properly chilled for a full 48 hours from collection. Local orders travel in our own refrigerated van.
Is delivery next day? Is that guaranteed?
We dispatch on a next working day DPD service and the great majority of parcels arrive next day. No courier guarantees a specific day though (DPD's own terms describe timescales as estimates), which is exactly why our packaging is built for 48 hours: even if a parcel takes an extra day, your meat arrives safely chilled and fresh.
What if I'm not home when DPD arrives?
DPD sends tracking notifications by email or SMS, including a delivery window on the day. Use them to nominate a safe place, a neighbour, or a DPD Pickup point if you won't be in. If nobody is available and no safe place was set, the order can fail, and because fresh meat can't be resold or redelivered, we can't refund deliveries that fail for that reason, so please do keep an eye on the tracking.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Before dispatch, contact us and we'll help if we can. After dispatch we can't redirect the parcel ourselves; DPD's notifications may let you make changes, but any change you make through DPD is at your own risk.
Do you deliver on bank holidays?
Delivery and dispatch days shift around bank holidays. The dates you see at checkout always reflect what's available for your address.
Can I send an order as a gift?
Absolutely, just use the recipient's address and contact details at checkout so DPD's tracking notifications reach them, and make sure they'll be available on the delivery day.
Product Quality
My meat looks dark or purplish in the pack. Is it off?
No, it's fresh, and this is completely normal. We seal products in vacuum packs or modified atmosphere (MAP) packs that keep oxygen away from the meat, which extends shelf life and protects quality. Without oxygen, red meat temporarily loses its bright red colour. Open the pack and the colour returns shortly as the meat is exposed to air.
Can I freeze my order?
Yes. Everything arrives fresh and is suitable for home freezing on the day of delivery, with one tip worth knowing. Vacuum packed products can go straight into the freezer in their packaging and keep well for months. MAP trays (the sealed trays with the protective gas mix) are fine to freeze as they are for around a month, but for longer storage take the product out of the tray and rewrap it tightly, in a freezer bag with the air pressed out, so the surface doesn't get freezer burn. Defrost in the fridge and use within 24 hours of defrosting.
How should I store my order when it arrives?
Refrigerate or freeze it as soon as it arrives. Then store, handle, and cook it as you would any raw meat: keep it separate, keep it cold, cook it thoroughly.
I have a food allergy. Can I order?
Our products are prepared in an environment that handles allergens. Message us on WhatsApp or email before ordering and we'll tell you what we can about the product and its preparation.
Refunds & Issues
Something's wrong with my order. What do I do?
Contact us within 24 hours of delivery, on WhatsApp (fastest) or by email, with your order number, a description, and photos of the product and packaging. We respond within 1 working day. Where something fell short we'll put it right with a replacement, refund, or credit.
An item is missing or wrong.
Same process: message us within 24 hours with photos of what arrived and we'll refund or replace the affected item.
My delivery arrived a day late. Am I entitled to a refund?
If it arrived within 48 hours of DPD collecting it, your order is still safely chilled and fresh, so a late arrival within that window doesn't qualify for a refund. If it arrived beyond the 48 hour window, or was lost or damaged, contact us within 24 hours and we will offer a replacement or full refund.
How long do refunds take?
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 3 to 5 working days and always within 14 days, depending on your bank.
Can I return meat I've changed my mind about?
Because fresh meat is perishable, we can't accept change-of-mind returns; food safety law exempts fresh food from the usual 14 day online cancellation right. You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your delivery day.
